oh-so-funny

.
Setting: In the bedroom.

Time: About 11 p.m. at night.

The Story:-

Caitlin lies on the bed, trying to sleep because she has to wake up early for Chemistry Practical class.

Carmen enters room. "Hi Caitlin! How come you're not asleep yet??"

"I just finished doing sit ups.. *trying* to sleep now."

"Oh. Eh I switch on the light for a while ar, I want to look for socks!"

*grumblegrumblegrumble* Caitlin pulls her blanket over her head.

"Eh, seriously la.. If I don't wear socks then afterwards my toes fall off!!"

"Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Good for you."

"Okay good night!! I leave the lights on okay!!" *beams*

"Oi don't crap!! Switch off the lights! Oh and yeah Carmen help me switch off my computer switch thing please thank you."

"Okay!!" Carmen slides bedroom door open. Carmen exits room. Carmen slides bedroom door shut.

"OIIIIIIII !!! SWITCH OFF THE LIGHTS!!!!"

Carmen laughs.

Caitlin sits up. Caitlin glares at the spot Carmen just vacated. Caitlin reaches over and switches off the light.

Carmen slides open bedroom door. Carmen switches lights on.

Caitlin shoots Carmen an evil glare.

Carmen laughs. Carmen exits and slides the door closed behind her.

"Carmennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!" Caitlin groans.

Carmen laughs.

*exasperated sigh* Caitlin gets up again to switch off the lights.

-end of story-

Somebody tell me again why I put up with Carmen? She lives to irritate me, I swear she does. XP

Anyway, the student committee workshop yesterday was quite fun. =) My teammates - Suet Sim, Joanna, Sharon, Jana, Steven, Chu Pu, Jun Jing and Xiao Tian - were so fun to be around! We were supposed to choose a venue for a prom, taking into account the dates available, the capacity, the price for meals, decorations and DJ, transport, ambiance and parking price. It was so fun, seriously! We had like, 30 minutes to decide and all. We decided in like, two minutes, and we actually started PLANNING the prom. Like, the after party, and allocating the budget, finding sponsors, publicity, posters, invitations, photographers, hiring buses.. So amusing. And in the end we found out we didn't need to do all that, all we had to do was decide which venue to hold it at. Heh. But it was really fun. =)

Oh, HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY MICHELE!! Don't forget, yesterday night was the last time you saw me before you turned 18!! =P *hugs&kisses*

bored. Bored. BORED.

I don't know how to work powerISO. Somebody PLEASE teach me ...

I'm bored.

It's 4.34 p.m. now.

It's one of my (very extremely rare) two free periods a week.

I'm bored.

I'm bored.

I'm bored.

Going for the student committee workshop thing later.

I haven't finished my EAP homework task. I still have two sentences to go.

I haven't finished my Maths homework. I've lost track of how much I haven't finished.

I haven't finished Chemistry homework. Which I don't have to do yet, but that's not the point.

I haven't gotten round to reading the remaining HOI secondary sources.

I haven't washed my dishes. (damn, I hate doing dishes. Have I mentioned that before?)

I haven't put my clothes into the cupboard. (but I've already folded them. *beams proudly*)

OH YOU KNOW WHAT ?????

I'm getting fat.

No seriously!!

I put on 1 kg. Actually I think it's more like 2 kg. Crapppppppp. Do you think doing 90 sit ups a night is enough to make me lose that 2 kg? Cheh, I sound like I've been doing it every night. Heh. I only started doing it yesterday night. Which means that I'll probably do it for like, 3 days if I'm lucky, then I'll forget all about it. *sniff* I don't want to get fat.

I don't like EAP. EAP is boring.

I'm bored.

Discovery

I have discovered that it is not very smart to cook ELEVEN eggs at a time. Apart from the fact that it will take me AGES to finish eating them.. It's WAY difficult to cook. Don't try this at home.

Heh. =P

I totally fell asleep during Chemistry today. Bah.

Anyway, we're being tested on monologues for term two (Drama). Here's the one I chose..

Shall I say how it is in your clothes? A month after your death I wear your blue jacket. The dog at the centre of my life recognises you've come to visit, he's estatic. In the left pocket, a hole. In the right, a parking ticket delivered up last August on Bay State Road. In my heart, a scatter like milkweed, a flinging from the pods of the soul. My skin presses your old outline. It's hot and dry inside.

I think of the last day of your life, old friend, how I would unwind it, paste it together in a different collage: Back from the death car idling in the garage; Back up the stairs, your praying hands unlaced, reassembling the bits of bread and tuna fish into a ceremony of sandwich; Running the home movie backward to a space we could be easy in, a kitchen place with vodka and ice, our words like living meat.

Dear friend, you have excited crowds with your example. They swell like wine bags, straining at your seams. I will be years gathering up our words, fishing out letters, snapshots, stains, leaning my ribs against this durable cloth to put on the dumb blue blazer of your death.

from Kumin, M.W. "How It Is"

We have to memorise it WORD FOR WORD and regurgitate it on the 2nd of June. It's supposed to be a "presentation of your character's emotional journey". It'll be a miracle if I manage to figure out how to do that.

By the way, from careful observation, deduction, and popular vote, *we* have concluded that .......................................

GUYS ARE JERKS.
(most of them, anyway)

No offense to the male population in general. *beam*

Also, thankiew very very much to my darling friends - Shereen, Terence, Michael, Mon Wei, Jia Ming, and Tee Jin. Because you guys replied my emo message. Heh. XD

No thanks to *narrows eyes* GOH CHENG CHUN and ANG WEI KHAI who didn't reply...... but never mind, I'm such a nice person, so I forgive both of you. *grin*

I miss you guys!!

XOXO. =)

p.s- signing off to do English for Academic Purposes homework task, History of Ideas essay (worth 20% of TOTAL marks), Chemistry homework, Maths homework, cook AND do laundry. *groan*

10 Reasons Why

Carmen is a good friend.

10. She's fun to be around. She's hyper and everything (most of the time). It's really, really entertaining. You'll never get bored of the things she says.

9. She's deep. No, seriously. She's so complex it could take years to figure out how she works. But that's good, you know, she thinks about things before she says them. And her analyzing skills are amazing.

8. She's understanding. Sometimes she doesn't know how to show it, but you can tell she cares, you know? Even if she's at a loss for words, she still tries.

7. She can cook. I'm actually being serious. Well, it's got nothing to do with her being a good friend, but well, so everyone knows.. SHE CAN COOK. And she's getting pretty good at it.

6. She's amusing. Which is kind of the same as being fun to be around (#10), sort of. But that (#10) was referring to the things she says. Now I'm referring to the things she does. Like putting her alarm far, far away so that she has to get up to switch it off, because otherwise she'll just switch it off without realising it. I've seen her do it.. her reflexes are extremely fast.

5. She's got skill. She makes fun of me without actually making it sound hurtful. It's skill, I tell you. She can package an insult and a compliment in a single sentence. And I can never work out whether she's complimenting me or not. Which is a good thing, I'm sure. Keeps me down-to-earth.

4. She's original. Who else says "evaporate" instead of "go away", or "basket" instead of "damn it", or "I KNOW RIGHT??" instead of just "I know"? And people can't help but imitating her, because the things she says are so infectious.

3. She talks. A LOT. You never run out of things to talk about with her. She can talk about anything under the sun. From her amazing-ness to a guy without a shirt on to DOING A CHICKEN..

2. She's amazing, of course. Hasn't anyone told you how amazing she is? Because if no one has, I'm telling you now! Seriously, how could you not know about her amazing-ness? Tsk, tsk, you've been living in like, the dark ages or something, not having heard of her being amazing. Because, you know, she really IS amazing.

And the NUMBER 1 reason Carmen is a good friend .......................

*drumroll*

1. *imitates carmen-speech* She's just a good friend la! You don't let ar now?? :D

I don't really know what I've done wrong, but I'm sorry anyway, because we're more mature than this, and friends shouldn't act this way. No need to attack each other anymore, yeah? Forgive me? =)

Can't take it.

I'M SORRY.

If this is a game,

YOU WIN.

I give up.

I'm sorry for whatever I've done wrong.

For You

.
.
... because you seem to be in a bad mood.

If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

You are Stronger than You Think

You are stronger than you think,
remember to stand tall.

Every challenge in your life
helps you to grow.

Every problem you encounter
strengthens your mind and your soul.

Every trouble you overcome
increases your understanding of life.

When all your troubles weigh
heavily on your shoulders,
remember that beneath the burden
you can stand tall,
because you are never given
more than you can handle...
and you are stronger than you think.

Promise Yourself

Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can
disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to
every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel like there is
something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your
optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best,
and expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on the
greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give
every living person you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, and too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

A Creed To Live By

Don't undermine your worth by comparing
yourself with others,

It is because we are different that each
of us is special.

Don't set your goals by what other people
deem important,

Only you know what is best for you.

Don't take for granted the things closest
to your heart

Cling to that as you would your life, for without
them life is meaningless.

Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living
in the past or the future.

By living your life one day at a time, you live all the
days of your life.

Don't give up when you still have something to give

Nothing is really over … until the moment
you stop trying.

Don't be afraid to admit that you are less
than perfect,

It is the fragile thread that binds us to each other.

Don't be afraid to encounter risks,

It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's
impossible to find.

The quickest way to receive love is to give love.

The fastest way to lose love is to hold on too tightly,

And the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

Don't dismiss your dreams. To be without
dreams is to be without hope.

To be without hope is to be without purpose.

Don't run through life so fast that you forget
where you've been,

But also know where you're going.

Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored
every step of the way.

.
.
.

Chill - don't give up on the human race. =)

Pride and Prejudice

This show never fails to make me feel emo. =)

Ms. Elizabeth : "I couldn't sleep."

Mr. Darcy : "Nor I. My aunt.."

Ms. Elizabeth : "Yes, she was here."

Mr. Darcy : "How can I ever make amends for such behaviour?"

Ms. Elizabeth : "After what you have done for Lydia, and I suspect for Jane also, it is I who should be making amends."

Mr. Darcy : "You must know, surely you must know, it was all for you. You are too generous to trifle with me. I believe you talked to my aunt last night, and it has taught me to hope, as I had scarcely allowed myself before. If your feelings are still what they were last April, tell me so at once. My affections and wishes have not changed. But one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed, I would have to tell you, you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love.. I love.. I love you. I never wish to be parted with you from this day on."

I like watching it. Over and over and over again.

So sue me. =)

I don't give a sh*t. ***** all you want.

You're just never the one.

Jyh Ling is right.

Always, somehow ...

You're never the one who comes up with the best ideas.

Someone else always has better ideas.

You're never the one who is the leader.

Someone else is always the leader.

You're never the one who wins.

Someone else always did better.

You're never the one people look up to.

Someone else is always the one people respect.

You're never the one people admire.

Someone else always does something more worthy of admiration.

You're never the smartest.

Someone else is always smarter.

You're never the best.

Someone else is always better.

You're never the person who is most well-rounded.

Someone else is always better than you in more ways than one.

You're never the one who starts things.

Someone else always starts things first.

You're never the one who has out-of-the-ordinary skills.

Someone else always can do what you can, and more.

You're never the one who stands out.

Someone else always shines brighter.

You're never the one who does the best job.

Someone else always does it better.

You're never the one with the highest marks.

Someone else always has a perfect score.

You're never the one with the best answers.

Someone else always has THE best answer.

You're never the one who excels at even one thing.

Someone else always excels at EVERYTHING.

If You're Not the One

.
.

Daniel Bedingfield- If You're Not the One

If you're not the one then why does my soul feel glad today?
If you're not the one then why does my hand fit yours this way?
If you are not mine then why does your heart return my call?
If you are not mine would I have the strength to stand at all?

I never know what the future brings
But I know you are here with me now
We'll make it through
And I hope you are the one I share my life with

I don't wanna run away but I can't take it, I don't understand
If I'm not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am?
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

If I don't need you then why am I crying on my bed?
If I don't need you then why does your name resound in my head?
If you're not for me then why does this distance maim my life?
If you're not for me then why do I dream of you as my wife?

I don't know why you're so far away
But I know that this much is true
We'll make it through
And I hope you are the one I share my life with
And I wish that you could be the one I die with
And I'm praying you're the one I build my home with
I hope I love you all my life

I don't wanna run away but I can't take it, I don't understand
If I'm not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

'Cause I miss you, body and soul so strong that it takes my breath away
And I breathe you into my heart and pray for the strength to stand today
'Cause I love you, whether it's wrong or right
And though I can't be with you tonight
You know my heart is by your side

I don’t wanna run away but I can’t take it, I don’t understand
If I’m not made for you then why does my heart tell me that I am
Is there any way that I can stay in your arms?

This is what I would do ... Just for you.

Phrase of the day

We're walking back from the meeting at College Square Lygon.

This conversation happens between Ryan, Michele, Carmen, and ..................................... me.

Here's how it goes.

Ryan was happily talking to Michele and Carmen, I've no idea what about, because I was talking to Jia Yi about our water bills.

*Ryan drops behind Michele and Carmen*

Ryan: Hi Caitlin.

Caitlin: Erm, hi. I thought you were talking to them? *gestures at Michele and Carmen*

Ryan: Yeah, but I'm tired of talking to dense people.

Caitlin: *thinks for a few seconds* Okay. Welcome to the world of UN-DENSE people. *grin*

*everyone looks at Caitlin weirdly*

Oh well.

Do you even care?

Tagged by Raihanis

1. Is it cute when guys kiss you on your forehead?
Well, I think it's cute. You know, in the movies and all when they're being all caring and stuff? Quite romantic la. Hehe.

2. A big poofy dress or a short party dress?
Erm, long slinky dress, yes, big poofy dress, no. I'll go with the short party dress. =)

3. What would you do if you received a long love letter?
Hmmm, that kind of depends on who wrote it.

4. Group dates or single dates?
Single dates, definitely! XD

5. Do you hate it when guys act different around their friends?
Erm.. different being....? Because I guess if they're around guys, they treat the guys differently from the girls, right? I mean, guys (decent guys, anyway) don't treat girls like guys. So if they treat their mates differently, of course they'll act differently around their friends, than say, their girlfriends. Right right right? =P but then again, I guess this kind of depends too. Like, how different you mean by different.

6. Are diamonds a girl’s best friend?
Erm. Yes and no, I guess. Yes because, well, they're shiny and sparkly and really pretty. =) No because they cost like, a bomb, and also because you've got to be REALLY REALLY careful with them, and I think it causes a lot of stress if you lose it or stuff like that.

7. Is your hair up or down today?
Down. My hair's still a bit too short to tie up.

8. Do you straighten your hair?
Never before. I don't think I will either. I used to want to straighten my hair like, really badly. But my mum didn't let me, I think. And that was a good thing, because I guess over time it didn't seem so important anymore. =)

9. Favorite mascara?
Er, I don't use mascara. I mean, I don't put make up. Except during skating competitions. But then my mum does the make up for me. So I don't know. =P

10. Do you get your nails done?
Once, for prom. Like, in a proper shop. And they were so totally useless. I could've done a better job myself. I do paint my nails........ once in a while. A long, long while.

11. Small or large purses?
I like the long-ish shaped ones. =) Not sure whether they're counted as large purses or not. But I don't like purses that are bulky. Very hard to keep in my bag.

12. In your purse, what are your must haves?
Erm.. money? Debit card, student ID.

13. Jeans or sweats?
What are sweats? Like, track pants? Are those sweats? Er, jeans, I think. For going out and stuff. Sweats for sleeping. =)

14. Do you wear clothes/shoes/jewelry that’s uncomfortable?
Yeah, sometimes. Clothes and shoes (read : closed-toed high heels). Very rarely, though.

15. Do you text message a lot?
Quite, I guess. It depends on who there is to talk to. =)

16. What would you do if you got pregnant?
It definitely won't happen before marriage, I know that much. So well, after marriage.. I guess I'd be happy to like, have a kid and all.

17. What’s your favorite color?
Black, white, pink, and other bright colours.

18. Heels or flats?
Heels. I don't have any flats, and I don't really like flats, for some reason. Well, I know it's because my dad's influenced me a lot in like, dress sense. Weird, I know, but yeah. =)

19. Did you ever cry during a romantic movie?
I don't think so.. no. During sad movies, yes. During romantic movies.. I just hug my bolster really really tightly and wish I had something more animate to hug than my inanimate bolster. XD

20. Would you ever leave the house without make-up on?
Of course. As stated above, I don't wear make-up.

21. Walmart or Target?
Er. Who cares? I've never actually seen a Walmart, and I've been into Target (in Australia) once, and I probably wouldn't know how to get there again.

22. Do you wear collared shirts?
Sometimes.

23. Do you like preppy boys?
Preppy? What's preppy?

Preppy, also spelled preppie, is a chiefly North American adjective or noun traditionally used to describe the characteristics of white Anglo-Saxon Protestants (WASPs). The term originated as a description of someone who attended private university-preparatory schools, commonly associated with the eastern United States; as well as those who attend some of America's prestegious private colleges and universities. These characteristics include particular subcultural speech, vocabulary, accent, dress, mannerisms, etiquette, and entitled life view. The term "preppy" is similar in formation to hippie or yuppie, and it had great currency in the 1970s and 1980s.

The more recent slang derivation prep has taken on an often derogatory meaning, associated not with any particular race, community or schools. Especially as used by young people, "prep" more generally denotes superficiality and preoccupation with the appearance and wealth.

Interesting. Okay, I don't like preppy boys then. A guy who is preoccupied with his appearance to me is just wrong. I don't mean like, looking into the mirror to make sure he's dressed smartly and stuff, I mean, like, over-obsessing on his looks.. Ugh. Turn off!! In a guy that I like, I mean. If it's just a friend then I can tolerate it. =)

24. Do you think lip gloss is the best!?
Erm.. I don't really use lip gloss that often, so I won't say anything. =)

25. Do you own any big sunglasses?
Yeap, I have a pair.

26. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?
Heheh. I have to get up approximately 2 hours before class starts. 45 minutes in the bathroom, 45 minutes to prepare my breakfast and eat it, 15 minutes to make sure I have all my stuff in my bag, and about 15 minutes to walk to class. XD

27. Do you like to wear band-aids?
Band-aids, like, plaster? Er.. Nooooo.

28. Do you like skater boys?
I think there are a couple of guys here who do that, but I never really notice how they look like.

29. Do you often wish there was something you could change?
Sometimes. Not often. But sometimes.

30. Gold or silver?
Silver, definitely. For some reason I don't really like gold stuff, even in like, cosmetic jewellery. But I wouldn't mind having real gold. =D

31. Do you like to receive flowers?
Depends on who it's from. What a diplomatic answer. =)

32. Do you like surfer boys?
Eh... never seen any, I think. 'cept in the movies. But then again, I never really notice. So.. I guess not.

33. Do you dress up for the holidays?
Dress up, like, make up and everything? Nope.

34. Do you like to wear dresses?
Yes, but like Raihanis said, I need an occasion to actually wear the dress. And unfortunately those don't come very often. =(

35. On a scale of 1-10 how much do guys confuse you?
1 being the lowest rate of confusion and 10 being the highest..

For guys who are like, friends --> 2.

For guys who are erm.. more than friends? =P --> 20.

XD

36. In the last 48 hours have you hung out with a guy?
Alone with a guy? Nope. In class.. and was walking to College Square Lygon with Ryan and 4 other girls just now. =)

37. Would you date a guy shorter than you?
Nope. Few reasons... not least being that I'm PRETTY SHORT MYSELF so not many guys are shorter than me. XD

38. Do you like to hold hands?
Errrrrrr... Again, depends on who I'm holding hands with. =)

39. What is the youngest you would date?
I'd actually rather not go with someone younger than me.

40. What is the oldest you would date?
No idea. Not more than 4 or 5 years older than me I guess. But I think I prefer same age..

41. What do you notice when you first meet a guy?
His face/smile.

42. Is it hot when guys sweat?
Depends on who the guy is. And how he got sweaty. XD I mean, if it's like, after sports then it's okay, but if it's you know..................................... =P

43. What is the best feature in a guy?
The way he treats people (read : me).

44. Do you like making eye contact?
Yes. Eye contact is like, SO essential. =)

46. Would you kill for chocolate?
Er, no, I wouldn't. But I DO like chocolate. (oh, I remember this one time before Carmen and I came to Australia, we were discussing some potential headline news.. "Catfight over chocolate bar results in teens' deaths", or something like that. Hee.)

47. Did you ever spend all day/night getting pretty for a guy?
No.

48. On a scale from 1-10 how fun is shopping?
1 being the least fun and 10 being the most fun ... I'd say about a 4. Whaaaaaaaaaaat? I'm not normal, so sue me. =P

49. Do you freak out if you miss your favorite show?
Nope. There are more things to the world than TV shows. =)

50. Do you yell a lot?
Not as much as Yee Hooi, that's for sure. Hehe. Kidding, darling. XD I don't yell. I talk very loudly. It's a habit I REALLY need to change. I tend to get overexcited sometimes. ><

51. Do you wear sweatpants/pajamas to school/work?
No. I would never do that.

52. Have you ever dressed unlike yourself to impress a guy?
No.

53. Do you write a lot of mushy love poems?
Sometimes, when I'm feeling emo. But otherwise, no.

54. What makeup could you not live without?
I'm sure I can live without make up.

55. Do you fall in love easily?
Yes and no.

56. Do you have cramps?
Until now I still don't know what cramps are. Maybe I've had them, and just don't know that they're called cramps. Or maybe I haven't had them. And still don't know what cramps are. So the answer is I don't know. XD

57. Do you think you have the bestest friends ever?
Of course!! What else can I say? =)

I. Need. Sleep.

.
.
I have found out (the hard way) that it is not very smart to sleep past 2 a.m. when you have college the next day. Especially when you have a full day (i.e. 9 a.m. till 5.15 p.m.). Also not very smart to be talking to the amazing one herself, Carmen, until late. Not very smart at all. I think she put crack in my food or something. Seriously. I was laughing like ...... *silence* ..... I would say hyena, but that would be insulting the entire hyena population.

So anyway. In response to what Carmen put on her blog..

I WOULD SOOOOOOOO RATHER NOT DO A CHICKEN THAN XXX !!

The identity of the said "XXX" shall remain unknown.. not least because I have absolutely no idea who the amazing Carmen is referring to. =)

Oh, the other day, Ian (Beh Rong Cheng) misspelled her name. Carmen's, I mean. It came out "Carken". I find that very amusing for some reason. XD

She really does need those blinder things, you know. Carmen. Needs those things they put on horses to block their view of the sides, so that they don't get scared by sudden movements and stuff like that. Only in Carmen's case, it'll be to prevent her from looking at shops. I think it's an excellent idea. Now I know what to get her for her birthday present. Or maybe I'll just give it to her early. It's definitely a worthwhile investment. XD

Anyway, I'll be really, really busy tomorrow, because I (being under 18 still) have to go for some College Square Under 18 residents gathering, because it's part of our Visa requirements or something like that. *groan*

Oh, and ....................................

*DRUM ROLL*

Pictures of the steak I cooked for my dinner yesterday. *beams proudly*

Doesn't look too shabby, huh? =)

Carmen says it looks like a dead chicken. I swear, the woman has a fetish with chickens, or something. She keeps talking about chicken, what with the doing a chicken and now this.... Tsk, tsk. *smirk*

Believe it or not, it actually tasted pretty good.

Yes, again, believe it or not, I actually cooked it myself.

Actually it's not the first time I've cooked steak. I think I've eaten steak like, three or four times already. All cooked by yours truly. *smiles widely*

History of Ideas essay for term 2. These are just the questions and stuff like that. This is going to be SOOOO much work. All the referencing and looking for primary sources.. Wish me luck. I'm going to need it. >< .

Revelation

I'm tired.

This will be a short post.

* the times below are approximations.

10.45 a.m. - Alarm clock rings.

12.00 p.m. - Leave apartment, take tram to Victoria Market.

1.00 p.m. - Finish buying food (to last a few thousand years) and head back to apartment.

1.45 p.m. - Have lunch with Carmen at Hungry Jacks (in the city).

2.15 p.m. - Look for electric blanket in David Jones (department store).

2.45 p.m. - Went to Supre. Became Carmen's personal hanger - to hang her bag, jacket and all manner of stuff while she was trying on a vest which she DIDN'T BUY. I am so proud of her. *laughs*

3.15 p.m. - Dragged to DFO (direct factory outlet) by the one and only Carmen Teoh. Okay, fine, I agreed to accompany her. Since I'm such a good friend and all. =)

4.55 p.m. - FINALLY leave DFO. *glares at carmen* kidding, kidding. I still love you Carmen. Even though you dragged me all over the place. XP

Okay, that's more or less it. After coming back to the apartment, I did my Literature homework. And I'm done with English for Academic purposes. I only have Maths left. *groan* Cooked dinner (steak-I would put up the pictures, because some of my darling friends don't believe I can cook, but it's not working for some reason. Bah.), and watched Biggest Loser and So You Think You Can Dance. The guys are so adorable!! Seriously. The things they do are so cute. I hope Jack wins. =) But I like Cate. She dances really well. And she's pretty.

Oh yes, yesterday, I went running with Carmen. We ran around Princes Park (3.2 km one round!! It's HUGE.). After that, Carmen went back, and I waited for some other people to play touch rugby. I'm mentioning this because I want to post up one of the things Nicholas Lam said ...

"ARGH!! YOU POTONG MY STEAM !!"

So funny right? Because he was trying to score, and Alastair well.. prevented it. It was absolutely hilarious. "You potong my steam", I ask you. Tsk, tsk.

Okay, that's all. I'm going to bed.

What is it like to have friends?
Am I isolating myself?
Did I want this?
Sigh.

comments

.
.
Comments given by my tutors for the first term of college.

CHEMISTRY

Comments: Caitlin needs to improve her understanding of the topics taught in Term one. I would be happy to help her in achieving better results through regular, individual consultations.

(I only got like, 2.9 marks out of 5. Sob. But that means I got 29 questions out of 40 correct. Which is.. not as bad as usual, considering it was all calculations. XD Well, I passed, at least. But I'll do better next time. I will !!)

DRAMA

Comments: Caitlin has progressed very well this term in Drama. She is prepared to have a go at whatever is put before her and offers much to the group with her observations. Caitlin should do well in this subject.

(9.25 out of 10 for the first term mime exam, even though it's not counted towards the final marks, I'm pretty happy with that.)

ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT

Comments: Caitlin has started the academic year very well. Her first written assignment was very good, 9.6/10 and she shows interest and dedication. A great start!

(So cool right, 9.6 out of 10!! I never expected it, I'd have been happy to get an 8, because the word limit was like, 800 words, and I wrote about 2000, and on the day we had to hand it up I spent 3 hours cutting the words down. And this is like, 10% of the final marks, so it's all good!)

ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES

Comments: Jia Qian Caitlin is an able and diligent student. She has responded well to the demands of EAP and this is reflected in the excellent mark she received for her assigned task.

(I got 10 out of 10 for this assignment, but I don't think it's a big deal, a lot of people got full marks too, and I think they were a bit lenient with the marking. But still. *grin*)

HISTORY OF IDEAS

Comments: It is a pleasure to have Caitlin in the class. She contributes well to discussions and always asks good questions.

(We didn't have any HOI exam for the first term, but classes are really fun. I love HOI.)

LITERATURE

Comments: Caitlin is an attentive and enthusiastic student. Her contributions to class discussions are insightful, and she helps to create a very pleasant class atmosphere.

(I got a 4 out of 5 for this. Not really happy with it, but it's only the first term marks, so I'll take it. This is like, 5% of our final marks. So hopefully I'll do much better for the next term. ><)

MATHEMATICS 1

Comments: Caitlin has achieved a satisfactory result in her practice test, but I feel that she is capable of doing better. Specifically, she should revise Section 1.5, the binomial theorem, polynomial long division and solving trigonometric inequalities. I would suggest that she actively seek help (either during class or outside of class in a one-to-one consultation) when she is experiencing difficulties. I also recommend that she attend the relevant extra support lectures for topics that she finds difficult. If she does these things, I am confident that she can do well in Mathematics 1.

(Hah, needs more practice is right! I totally lost like, more than 14 marks because of careless mistakes!! And all I did when I got back the paper was look at it and I went, OMG how could I have made such a stupid mistake?? Bah. But I did all the practice tests and exercises that they gave out!! Anyway, I only got 66%. ><>

PSYCHOLOGY

Comments: Excellent work Caitlin! You and your group were standouts in this assessment task and deserve the full marks that have been given. Keep up the great work!

(Really, really, really happy with this. How can you not be happy with full marks? Just want to thank my darling group members, Ryan, Michele and Lydia, WE DID IT !! *beam*)

Overall I'm pretty happy with the comments my tutors gave me, the world is right and everything is wonderfully beautiful.. haha. But yes, I will improve. I can do it. I know I can. =)

agitated ...

.
.
I got very agitated today. Few reasons. First, I went out of the apartment wearing these closed-toes leather high heels right, you know the kind people wear for work? Yeah, my mum got those for me, so I decided I'd just try to walk in them. I thought it'd be okay, you know, so yeah. But after walking for like, 3 minutes .... CRAMPED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, I tell you, the shoes were SO uncomfortable to walk in. And I had to walk ALL THE WAY to the Leeper Building. Which is actually not too bad, when you're wearing slippers or even normal high heels.

Anyway, that wasn't the worst of it. After Literature (the class I was heading to), I went to Wynne Cottage, because I had to pay 8 dollars for goodness knows what. So that was okay, but my next class was like, all the way down Swanston Street (well, not exactly all the way, but it's far from the Leeper Building okay!! I checked during E & D, in a straight line, it's 420 metres away, and obviously you can't walk in a straight line from class to class - unless you can walk through buildings or something, and the buildings aren't exactly small, plus, it gets confusing sometimes, all the buildings look so same-ish). But I digress. So I had like, 10 minutes to get to class. Which normally wouldn't be a problem, because normally I'd wear sneakers, and on the rare occasion, high heels, which I can definitely walk in.

Anyway, that's not the bad part. So I was like, half walking-half running to Environment and Development tutorial, and I got there at like, 10.57 a.m. (class starts at 11.00 a.m.) and they'd already started class. I wasn't the only one, Jonathan came in right before me. XD So anyway right, TEN minutes after the class starts, Rose says, "Alright, let's all go to the Leeper Library to do some research!" Which is like, where I came from. Well, the building next to the one I came from. So I was like, "whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat??". Yeah. And I tell you, Rose walks DAMN FAST. We lost like, half our tutorial group. Quite amusing, really. But they all knew where the library was, so that turned out okay.

Yeahhh, that was pretty much it for the morning. In the afternoon, I had Maths, and I totally fell asleep when Bell was talking about reciprocal functions or something like that.

After Maths, I had one of my very rare free periods, thank goodness. (I have two free periods a week-sob. Oh well. It's not like I'll make use of the time anyway, even if I have more free periods. And I am perfectly sane, thanks.) Yes, so I came back to the apartment and did a bit of cleaning, vacuuming and cleaning up the kitchen and bathroom area. Then Carmen came back, and we waited for Moon Yee, Michele and Ryan and then went to Princes Park to run.

Princes Park is like.. huge. One round is 3.2 kilometres. So I mean, we all want to keep fit right, so okay, run one round. So I started running, and I was keeping pace with Ryan. But then his shoelaces got untied so he stopped to tie them. Then I ran for quite a bit, maybe one kilometre? Or a bit less. Then I was wondering, how come I can't hear anyone running behind me? I'd have thought they'd have caught up by then. And it was pretty dark, so it was a teensy bit.. not scary, just.. well, a cause for concern. So I stopped and turned around, and I saw Ryan running towards me. So I asked him where the girls were, and he said he didn't know. Then he turned off to run to the half mark, meaning he runs half a round, instead of the whole round, because he said he had to go off. So I just stood there and waited and waited for Moon Yee, Michele and Carmen.

I waited for like, a good five minutes, or maybe it was less than that. But it seemed longer. Anyway, I waited for quite a while and I kept wondering what happened, because they didn't pass by me. So I ran backwards, back to where we started, because I reasoned that I might see them on the way, maybe they started walking instead of running or something. But when I got back to where we started, and found the tree we put our stuff under, they weren't there! Luckily Ryan was still there. So I asked him where the girls were, he said he didn't see them. So I kind of started panicking a little, because I didn't see them, and Ryan didn't see them. Then Ryan asked if any of them brought their phones, and I said Carmen did.

So we called Carmen, right, and she answered the phone and she sounded like she was totally dying and all. I mean, I could tell she was running, but yeah, I didn't know where she was. And she said the three of them ran the whole round, and she said they'd be reaching soon, and meet us at the tree. So I was like, confused, because I didn't see them, and Ryan didn't see them.. and we were kind of in front of them, so we said that they must have cut off at some earlier path or something. So then they came running up, and insisted that they went the full round. Well, Carmen and Moon Yee. Michele came a few minutes later. We talked a little, then Michele started talking about how she stopped to watch some random guy playing tennis, and then cut off from there. And then Carmen and Moon Yee were like, "hey, you weren't supposed to tell them that, we ran the whole round remember???". And the Michele said, "huh? Only I stopped to watch mar, then you all ran the whole round..". But by that time Ryan and I knew that they didn't actually run the whole round. =)

So then we were walking back to College Square, and we TOTALLY WALKED PAST where we were supposed to turn off. I mean, we walked like, all the way to College Square LYGON. Which is like, pretty far from our place. I mean, not bad right?? We were so busy talking that we continued walking in the wrong direction for almost 10 minutes. XD We only realised when Moon Yee pointed up and said, "Eh, there's another College Square ar, I didn't know." And me, being like, so totally blur, I said "Yeah, that's College Square Lygon". It took my brain a little while to say "What the hell are we doing at College Square Lygon??" and by that time, Michele had realised, so we all like, started laughing and turned back. Quite funny, actually. =)

Then we (FINALLY) got back to College Square (ours is College Square on Swanston, by the way), Moon Yee and I went to the gym to do sit ups. We did like, 60, and that was enough to almost kill us. XD Well, not really, but it WAS tiring. I normally do sit ups on a flat surface, not tilted, so yeah. ><

That was pretty much it for the day, my friends are SO amusing. =P I mean, the things we manage to do.. walking in the wrong direction without realising.. and TELLING PEOPLE THEY RAN THE WHOLE ROUND WHEN THEY ACTUALLY DIDN'T... all in all, a fun day. =)

I'll do Carmen's tag tomorrow or something.

G'night. ;)
