Last Post of 2008.

... because it has been an amazing year. =)

2008 has been a year full of:

... self discovery.

... challenges.

... triumphs.

... worries.

... friendship.

... gossip.

... meaning.

... fun.

... hard times.

... inspirational moments.

... weak days.

... strong weeks.

... happiness.

... sadness.

... endless pondering.

... looking ahead.

... finding the right path.

... not straying off the track.

... guidance.

... mutual respect.

... trust.

... hope.

... belief.

... love.

I spent much of the year of 2008 in Australia - the first time I've been overseas alone. Heck, the first time I was without my family.

And I think that made me stronger as a person. Now I know exactly what I can handle and what I still struggle with. It has made me learn to be independent... or rather, forced me to become independent.

So much so, that I think I can say that going to Australia to study was the best thing I've ever done. Change of environment, change of heart, change of behaviour. That's all I can say. It's just so................ amazing, this transformation. To me, at least. Subtle differences are all that show, but the results are astounding. I never knew I had it in me to be able to do the things I did. And now I know just what I'm capable of..... watch out, world, here I come!! =)

To my friends, college mates and teachers in Australia, I owe you all so much for making life there so interesting. It wasn't always easy, but then it never got so hard that I couldn't go on. Thank you to all of you for making life there possible for me. =)

To my parents and friends back in Malaysia... thank you for keeping me tied down to Earth, and for being there whenever I needed you guys. You were always just a call/text message away, and I really appreciated that when I was feeling a little down. Thank you guys so much.. I know I can always count on all of you to be my anchor. =P

Therefore, as 2008 comes to a close, 2009 is just around the corner..

SO HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!!

May the year be full of blessings, joy and happy tidings for all of you. ;)

New Year's Resolution:

To maintain this year's good streak, and to improve on everything! =)

Now if only I could have put you into the equation.. then everything would have been complete.

Still no regrets. ;)

Update.

Blogger is being irritating. It won't load the photos from my surprise birthday thing.

I will get it to work soon..

Rest assured that I haven't forgotten to thank everyone who made that possible, and also everyone who wished me a happy birthday. =)

I will be back!

Tuesday 30 December 2008

Happy Birthday Mum!

You took care of me for 18 years... no mean feat, I might say.

I know I was difficult at times - and I apologise for that. I see the light now..... in most things. XD

Thanks for everything, Mum.

Happy Birthday.

I am who I am because of you.

Monday 29 December 2008

Speechless.

... because my friends are the AWESOME-ST ever.

I had the surprise of my life today (or rather, yesterday, it's 2.40 am now).

The first thing I saw when I got into the house -

Michael, Jeremy, Wei Khai, Jit Jiang, Jvn Yi, Adrian and Hou Chuen holding up this beautiful banner saying "Happy 18th B'Day".

The next thing I knew, I was being sprayed with those party spray can things. I later found out - they used up almost all the three bottles on me.

Yeah, I was screaming. =P

Apparently the surprise at midnight was just so I wouldn't suspect that there was a bigger one in the evening.

I can't believe it, it was so well planned.. everyone hid their shoes in the house, so I didn't see them when I came in. They even hid their CARS. Don't mess wey.

I'm too stunned for words, seriously....

In no particular order:

Ruth, Jia Ming, Yun Shen, Yee Hooi, Carmen, Michael, Jun Yeu, Cheng Chun, Chor Yeng, Michelle, Tee Jin, Leping, Da Wei, Zhe Wei, Jiah Lit, Wei Xiang, Jvn Yi, Adrian, Jit Jiang, Yew Hoong, Hou Chuen, Jo Yee, Mon Wei, Jeremy, Terence, Wei Khai, Shereen, Sze Ying, Theng Fei.

To all of you - THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Shereen, Mon Wei, Theng Fei - The banner is beautiful. Really, really. Thank you. =)

The gang + Chor Yeng + Sze Ying + Wen Zhen - Thanks so much, all of you!! The present was..... *cough* interesting. But I'll have you know, I'm a very, very good girl okay.. I won't need those things. =P

Carmen, Jeremy, Jiah Lit, Wei Khai, Shereen, Jun Yeu, Da Wei & Zhe Wei - Thanks for the presents. Love them all. =)=)

The organisers - You guys are the best la, seriously. ;)

Mum, Dad, Gary - I can't believe you three managed to keep it from me. Thank you and I love you I love you I love you!!!

I'm still speechless, all I can think of to say is thank you.

YOU.

GUYS.

ROCK.

Thanks to you all, I had the MOST AWESOME 18th EVER.

I'll never forget this. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. =)

I LOVE YOU GUYS.

P.s - Picture-loaded post coming up soon. Anyone with pictures... Facebook!! Thank you! =)

This party was interesting in more ways than one... I agree with Yun Shen, x3!!! Blue, housefly and TL in one place.. ZOMG. =P

Friends like all of you are impossible to find. =)

Sunday 28 December 2008

Gratitude.

... because I have THE most amazing friends ever!!

My parents took me out for dinner tonight, at Lafite.

DINNER WAS AWESOME.

Tiny, tiny portions, but.. well, that's what fine dining is like, right? Haha.

I was taking pictures of myself throughout dinner. My dad kept shaking his head at me. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Occupational hazard of being of the female species. XD

So anyway, we left at around.. 11 pm? We finished dinner at around 10.30 or 10.45 pm.. and then I went to the toilet to take pictures. =P Eh, the toilet had a lot of mirrors okay!!! Hahaha. I'm getting bimbotic.

ANYWAY.

So yeah. In the car, driving home.. I was all for going straight up to my room after getting home. But then dad suddenly said, "When we go home, we must continue taking pictures okay? All over the house".

"OKAY!!"

=P

And then he took pictures. A LOT of pictures. Enough pictures to make me go like, "Are we done yet??????"

And then I was all set to go upstairs. But dad asked me to go sit with him on the couch. So I duly sat there and started replying to the birthday wishes I got. After replying to about 10 messages...

*JENG JENG JENG*

Somebody threw an aeroplane blanket over my head. And I thought I saw a flash of a dark shirt (the shirt my brother was wearing), so I thought it was my brother playing a trick on me. So I had this huge blanket over my head, and my first reaction was:

"WHAT'S THIS??"

Yeah, they were all laughing at me too. Go ahead, laugh. I don't mind. =)

And then I started screaming a bit. And I got the blanket off. And then somebody pulled it.

When I finally managed to get off the sofa, I saw Jia Ming and Terence (Terence? Or was it Michael?) laughing on the floor behind the sofa.

=.=

Super funny.

But yeah. Terence, Jia Ming, Cheng Chun, Michael, Chor Yeng, Ruth, Yee Hooi and Carmen were there. Cheng Chun and Yee Hooi were holding a "1" candle and an "8" candle respectively. And then they started singing Happy Birthday.

ZOMG SUPER TOUCHED WEY!!

And my mum, my dad and my brother were all in on it!! While I was totally clueless... didn't suspect a thing.

You guys rock la, seriously. =)=)

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Terence for organising it, and to everyone else for coming!! And to those who couldn't make it as well..

I LOVE YOU ALL!!

*sniff*

You guys are the best and you know it.

I'll post up the pictures........... soon. =)

P.s- Thank you everyone for all the wishes, calls and text messages.. I'll write another post about that soon. ;)

P.s 2- Terence and Jia Ming drove everyone to my house. They were going back, and everyone was getting into Terence/Jia Ming's cars. TERENCE GOT INTO THE PASSENGER SEAT OF HIS CAR. And it took him a while and a few weird looks to realise that HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DRIVING. You should have seen the way he scrambled out of the car and the embarrassed expression on his face - absolutely priceless. My friends are amusing, I know. =)

AAAAAHHHHHHHH LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU ALL !!! =)=)=)

What's your excuse? You forgot? I thought we were good friends.

I feel so loved. =)=)

Youth.

... because nobody can stay young forever.

First things first...

I GOT MY OFFER LETTER!!!

Heee=)

That's not the full thing, there are a few more instructions but I cut them out. Trinity people, go check the Trinity College Portal (your e-mail)!! I got it on the 23rd of December, but I only checked it last night, on the 26th. Maybe not all of them are out yet, but some are.. no harm checking, right? =)

Anyway. Yeah, I already met the conditions and stuff of the conditional offer, BUT STILL. It's SOMETHING to have the real thing, you know? Reassurance. =P

So. I played basketball this morning. And I made a fool of myself, in my opinion. I can't shoot for nuts! Seriously. But the guys were all so nice. Haha. Although it's *JUST A LITTLE* embarrassing when someone passes you the ball, and then everyone (and I mean EVERYONE, including the opposing team) backs off so you have a clear shot at the hoop. And then you miss. About 10 times.

No prizes for guessing who that sad, sad person is.

*malu* =(

But it was fun. I shall... somehow learn to shoot a bit more accurately. But then that would take a lot of work. Right now, I can score like, 2 shots, which doesn't sound to bad.. but 2 out of 10? Yeah, that's bad. And that's IF I'm lucky.

=.=

So anyway. After that, I got home and showered and stuff, then rushed out for driving lesson.

Ooooooh, I'm so proud of myself, one lesson and I've mastered the side parking. =)=) Haha, it still takes me a bit of time, I need to think a bit where to turn the steering wheel and stuff, but it's still under 5 minutes (I think) so I'm good. =)

I didn't stall the car today!! Not on the road, at least. Just once when I was parking, I kind of left the handbrake up and tried to go. Forgot la. =P

But still, an improvement! Didn't stall on the road. *broad grin*

And then... hmmm. And I'm blogging now. Oooh, going out for dinner tonight. At that LaFitte place. I *think* that's how you spell it. =)

And tomorrow... going to try out a spa!! Hahaha. I've never been to a spa before, I think. Sounds cool! Can't wait. ;)

I'm in a happi-fied mood!! Endorphins make people happy! Yay!!

TTFN!!

There's something about you... I just can't bear to be away from you.

Happy 18th Birthday, Shereen!

HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY SHEREEN!!

My wonderful friend, Shereen, whom I have known for about 6 years now.. Wow, I didn't even realise it was that long.

So here's to our friendship... and to a lot more years of remaining the best of friends. =)=)

MUCH LOVE!! =)

You're one in a million, and I'm truly glad to have a friend like you. Like I said, you're more than worth all the effort. *wink* Love ya!!

Friends are forever. ;)

Friday 26 December 2008

Mesmerised.

... because of your charm.

I know it's a day late. But....

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

Heh.

My blogging has been so ... sporadic. Ooooh, big word. I'm so clever. Heee. =P

Okay I'm stalling.

I don't know what to write. Oooooh, I have blogger's block!!! Hahaha I made that up myself. From writer's block, see? Omigosh this is getting stupid.

On another note,

I WAAAAAAAAAAAANT !!!! =( I've been trying to download it for ages, but there are never enough seeders. *tragic sigh* No point buying the whole thing, because it's superrrrr expensive. Grrr. I want to watch the movies again!! Soon, my precious, I'll have it soon........... =)=)

Ooooooh, I want this too! Was at MPH in 1 Utama yesterday, I wanted to get those books, but... no stock. =( They only had The Novice. I want, I want, I want!! The Age of Five Trilogy (Priestess of the White, Last of the Wilds, Voice of the Gods) by Trudi Canavan as well, was AWESOME. Seriously. So yeap, I want to read The Black Magician Trilogy!! Soon, soon. Hee. =)

And so so so so so many other books and stuff, I waaaaaaaant. I love fantasy books. I got the Warcraft books yesterday - War of the Ancients Trilogy by Richard A. Knaak. Don't get me wrong, I don't play Dota or anything, neither do I intend to. But I read the blurb, and it looked interesting!! Therefore, I will read it. *contented smile*

Somehow I just can't help but feel fond of you.

Every moment I'm with you I catch my breath.

Bed.

... because it's the best place in the world to be.

Have I ever mentioned that I love my bed?

Well, I'm telling you now.

I LOVE MY BED.

It's the most comfortable, soft, wonderful bed ever. Plus, it's big. See, I get to choose which side I want to sleep on, the left side, or the right side! Unlike the SUPER SMALL SINGLE BED IN AUSTRALIA.

Which is why today, I had one hell of a time dragging myself out at 7 am to get ready for my driving lesson. Yeah, early right? The bed is just so warm, and soft, and comfy, and inviting....

By the way, did I say that I love my bed?

Anyway. I stalled the car three times during my lesson today. Hey, it's only my second lesson. I didn't stall it or anything during the first lesson. Only during the second. And only when I was ON THE ROAD with a few thousand hundred million cars BEHIND ME because it was a TRAFFIC LIGHT.

I stalled the car once when it was a red light. And another two times when it JUST TURNED GREEN.

Not my fault. I got confused okay!! Ask me for the full story, sometime. I won't leave out any details. *disgruntled pout*

On another note, I have no idea why I suddenly feel like blasting things. Well, not really blasting, but I like the word blasting. =) I just dug out the old Red Alert 2 CD, and came across a new Red Alert 3 one, which my brother says doesn't work. Oh well, am going to test it out anyway, and if it doesn't.. I've still got the old one. ;)

Shuddup.
Why can't I play Red Alert? I don't play it often. Maybe once in two years. It's not weird. Oooh, I'm brainwashing you to make you think that I'm not weird. Hahahaha. I don't think I was supposed to say that. Oops. Okay I'm officially weird.

I LOVE MY BED.

All I want for Christmas is you. Santa, that's my only wish this year.

Sunday 21 December 2008

One Last Song.

... because it's hard to let go.

Pictures from the short trip to Penang (in no particular order):

Actually it's probably from the last pictures I took to the first few, but yeah. =P

It's never complete without a picture in the toilet. XD

Michele and I.

This is a very very close-up shot of me.

Michele reckons we look cute. She thinks she looks like a hamster, and that I look like a ........ guinea pig. *sigh* Guinea pig, I ask you..

My awesome cousin, Jasryn.

She is THIN. I am jealous.

Michele's serious driving look. =P

Michele's long time friend, and Jasryn's (relatively) new classmate, Darren. It's interesting, see. I'm Michele's (relatvely) new classmate, and Jasryn's (obviously long time) cousin. Michele and Jasryn used to go to the same high school. Isn't it amazing, how the world is so connected? =)
P.s- Darren.. sorrylah, the picture is just too cute to not post up. =)=)

View from Michele's apartment.

I think I have pretty good photo taking skills, haha.

Eh, I took these with my phone okay.

Not bad, right right right? =)=)

Artistic-nya.... heeee.

The bus I took to Penang. Aeroline Shuttle, or something. It is SUPER comfortable. If it was possible to drive to Australia, I'd take this bus. Seriously, the seats are SO MUCH BETTER than the aeroplane seats. The only thing is.. a bus is a TEEEEENY bit slow.

ZOMG my internet keeps cutting off, it's irritating when the pictures won't load and stuff. I had to stop doing it last night and continue today. Bah.

WHO SAID IT WAS ABOUT YOU?

Every single time I say that I've had enough, but I keep coming back for more.

Saturday 20 December 2008

Missing In Action.

... because I'm feeling lazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

The internet is pissing me off, my pages take forever to load.

I have a lot of things to blog about, but I'm too lazy to.

I have a lot of things to do, but I'm too lazy to get out of bed to do them.

I have .......... OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH !

Driving lesson on Monday! =)=)

Soon, soon, my precious, the license will be MINE !!!!!

Hahahaha.

Damn lame, I know, I know.

I didn't get to obtain my license last year, how sad. =( I only managed to get my "L" license, there wasn't time to get the "P" license, because I already left for Australia. Oh well, I'm back now, and I'm going to ....

What was I going to say? I just spaced out. I can't believe I just spaced out.

Anyway. I'm going to get my license. Heee. =)

~And I found myself thinking, whatever happened, all I wanted was for you to be happy. Even if it meant getting my heart broken, at least you’d be happy. I found myself thinking that whatever was enough for you would be enough for me. You brought out the best in me, you believed in me, and you kept me sane. I found solace in your words, and comfort in your company. I found peace in your silence, and joy in your laughter. But it tore me apart inside to not be able to tell you how I felt about you. I thought I could do it, even though I knew it wasn't going to be easy. Now I'm not so sure anymore. I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but nobody told me it was going to be this hard. But what can you do, but steel yourself, hold your head up high and continue the journey? What are we, after all, but actors and actresses, living out a life directed by the people around us, and the situations we are in? Life always never seems fair, because we cannot have what we want. But it is only a matter of perspective. We all want something else - we all want something we can't have. It is human nature. Until we learn to conquer that, and be content with what we have - we will never be truly happy.~
-CaitlinKang-

I'm sorry, I really am. I never meant to hurt you.

It's killing me inside to know that I'm doing all this for you, and yet you're blind to my sacrifices.
